My primary goal with Speed Zone: Digital Dash was to make players feel lightning fast. Because the game revolves around physical movement, I focused on creating a strong sense of acceleration and momentum through both gameplay and presentation.
To reinforce this fantasy, I contributed to the design of the game's electricity-themed visual and audio effects, as well as cinematic camera angles that emphasized speed and intensity. These elements were integrated into the player's progression through their run, creating a responsive gameplay experience that became increasingly energetic as players built momentum.
Accessibility was another important consideration during development. Because not all players are able to run comfortably, I helped design alternative gestures that could be recognized by the motion-tracking cameras, including actions such as arm flapping. This allowed players with different physical abilities to engage with the core mechanics while preserving the intended sense of speed and excitement.
